The funniest couple I have ever worked with. We were sooooo lucky. Rainy all morning even when arriving at the church and then as we came out and nice and warm. We had so much fun and my sides hurt with laughter after this weekend!! A lovely couple and a great wedding to be involved with.

Sarah and Andrew were married at Armathwaite Hall. With a lovely ceremony in the lake room with the sun beaming down it was a lovely day. Despite the weather forecast we managed to get everything outside and had a lovely afternoon.

Claire and Daniel

The gorgeous Claire and Daniel got married married yesterday in Whitehaven. With their reception at the Westlakes Hotel and despite the weather forecast it didn't rain and after the wedding breakfast we managed to get down to Seascale - where they were great sports!! and I had so much fun - I really do have the best job in the world!! Summer Photography Competition!!

We are holding our first summer photography competition!!

If you have any bored little ones this summer then this could be for you!!

This event will be a two half day event, where by a basic photography lesson will be taught in the first day with drinks and snacks provided. Then goodie bags and cameras will be given out, so your child can then go and take some thought out photos.

We then require the cameras back at the end of the week, and get the photos put onto discs so we can go through and choose an entry into the photography competition. Its not just based on the photo but the thought ideas, and skills shown in the final image.

The winner will receive a compact digital camera and a portrait package for here at Abby Nelson Photography.

Our Best Friends Wedding!

On Saturday our best friends got married in The lake District. Me and Maizie were both bridesmaids and it was very very different being the other side of the camera - especially when making a speech!!

We had a lovely day and lots if fun. I couldnt resist after the meal getting a few snaps at surprise view with them - so here are a few pics.

MPA in portraits!!!

I recently returned gaining my licentiate level of the Masters Photographers Association in Portraits. I have held it in weddings for a few years now and decided to go for it in portraits and I was successful!

It has inspired me to push our portraits and make them different so watch this space for our backgrounds and styles!!

A few words from our press release:

Abby has just heard she has achieved the level of Licentiate in a second category.Abby was presented with her original qualification in the Wedding category and has now reached the same high standard in the Portrait category too.

Eric Jenkins, chairman of the qualifying committee said: “To reach Licentiate level in two separate categories is a great achievement and Abby should be very proud to have reached such a high standard"

What a fabulous wedding to be part of! They had a very intimate do, with a pic nic at Crummock - so thankfully it stayed dry if somewhat a little windy!! We had great fun taking pics in the fields with the fells all around us.

What a great day we had on Saturday the weather was amazing!! Kristy and Andy got married at the Lodore which was beautiful. Kristy looked like a princess and was up for some fun! We had a great day with them, and wish them both and Thomas all the happiness in the world.

Today Anya came in and modeled for me. This is something we have been looking into for years. The babies are completely safe and are actually only about an inch off the floor with cushions and everything underneath! Anya loved it in there!

Sarah and Dave

On the 27th March 2010, the marriage of Sarah Wall and Dave Candeland took place at the lovely Winder Hall Hotel in Lorton http://www.winderhall.co.uk They had a marquee in the grounds which looked fabulous! They were tucking into a hog roast when we left also provided by Winder Hall.

Sarah's dress was from http://www.leonieclaire.com in Brighton and was really unusual. With just a sparkle in her hair to set it off. With them men all looking smart is suits from Greshan Blake in Brighton http://www.greshamblake.com/

The aroma from the flowers that were from evergreens in Keswick was amazing! You could smell them right throughout the ceremony room. http://www.evergreens.uk.com and they were pretty spring flowers.

The cake which also smelled beautiful of butter icing was from Lotties McPhees cupcakes in Newcastle http://www.lottiemcpheescupcakes.com in Newcastle and were transported very carefully by Sarah's mum! Instead of the usual towered cakes, Sarah and Dave opted for Muffin style cakes!

It was a pleasure to be involved in Sarah's and Dave's wedding, it was lovely relaxed day with a wonderful atmosphere. We didn't see the entertainment of band camp that evening but have heard them previously so I'm sure they enjoyed dancing the night away in the marquee :-)

Thankfully we missed the rain that has now started! This is the last of ella's Sticky Fingers watch me grow shoot and it has been a pleasure to watch her grow up so far!
